In reply to wudijo: [it kind of goes the other way around]

I understand what your saying it does indicate they are discontinuing development, but they discontinued D2 and that kept alive and then came back with D2R and development, all i'm saying is some ARPG's are like fine wine they take time to mature and grow, they made changes to Warhammer 40k because they think it's all over but it has a following out there as evidenced by the ActionRPG community and i think what kept D2 going was the Content Creators and the Websites like CodeDeception i think you may be underestimating the power of CodeDeception in the ARPG world and what it has become.

to be fair, we only covered D2 because of the announcement of D2R. We had the impression that it would become a game with more updates than what we got in the end

Why don't you guys have a WoW section? I get you guys are all out arpg that's fine, I'm a big diablo fan but just seems like a easy transition. Being arguably the best MMORPG, pve, pvp id rather use CodeDeception then some other bs website lol. I was just wondering.

Extensive games requires extensive resources and time investment. WoW is a huge game to tackle and would require to onboard a lot of people and build a lot of tech. Either it's in the cards and it will take time or it's not in the cards because of the challenges I listed. Reminder: as a mod, I speak only for myself and not for the CodeDeception team. 🙂

So. Looking for another game to play with my wife. We enjoy open world, survival games. We liked Raft a lot, played a bunch of Ark. Dabbled in No Man's Sky but every time we get back, we're lost and must start back from the beginning. 😐 We played a TON of Satisfactory and Terraria. We're currently enjoying Deep Rock Galactic a lot. She's not the greatest ARPG fan (to my dismay) but we did play a bit of D3, D4 and PoE together. There are new hotness around with Palworld but we're not sure the whole Pokémon thing is in our wheelhouse. Anyone have something to say about Enshrouded?

I've played both the Enshrouded demo, and now a couple hours of Palworld.

From a gameplay perspective Palworld feels like a much more streamlined Ark, where your Pals get to work around the base early on and your progression curve is smooth in the early game. Most early Pals are non-aggressive so you're able to explore a lot and your progression comes from capturing Pals which encourages you to explore even more. Where Palworld has been a bit of a disappointment so far is the combat. Fighting enemies is pretty clunky.

Enshrouded on the other hand; personally I felt like the survival/base building aspect was detrimental to the game's overall feel. I liked the exploration and traversal, made more interesting by the Voxel nature where you can "make your own stairs" up a mountain if you want. Exploring the Shroud and fighting some early bosses in the demo were also quite fun and the controls are great.

So I guess TL:DR - Want to build/automate a base? Palworld.
Want to fight enemies/treat it like an open world action game? Enshrouded.
